IIT Dreams…

Well to start it of about 70% engineers of India at one point of time in their life wanted to go for IIT…….now about rest 30% out of them 25% never knew what IIT is and 5% are already IITians…..I am one of those 70% who dreamt of being an IITian but never was able to achieve that dream…..not due to some uncertain circumstances but only due to lack of hard work and concentration and am solely responsible….forget it, am not going to tell you my fate story…but about some things which recently happened in my life the IIT calling….well not actually a degree but I do got few certificates from this premier institute to at least achieve 3% of my dreams….so here starts the story of IIT dreams, external exams, flying dutchman,wikipedia,techfest,kshitij,bombay,kharagpur and off course two of my best buddies ashutosh and shivram…….

I don’t know the exact dates but somewhere around start of December 07 when we all were in mood of vacations and just to begin preps for new year 08 bonanza of 3rd semester external exams don’t know exactly who he was but some one whom I know went through a website named www.techfest.org and somehow that words felt into my ears and thus started my journey of 3% IIT dreams…….so rest is about to come in future chapters……

Chapter 1 (Techfest.org)

As am bit internet addict but hardly do anything on internet except orkutting or downloading songs so browsing through techfest site was just an another reason to do a bit more time pass with internet as had nothing to do at that time. And lemme tell you that am too lazy to type even complete website add so I jus googled through my google toolbar for techfest and about 17000+ results poped out in 0.371 secs as google said so in its search results briefing and first one as usual was techfest.org and there was my click on it which was going to change my life at least for coming month. My first impression was to just check outlook of site which seemed pretty tacky and professional not like that of our college’s crappy website whose almost 90% links are dead or lead to just one page i.e. “HOME PAGE” which constantly hammered you same thing of our institute. That first impression itself created a good insight of the events. I browsed through couple of events like robotics, biotechnology, programming and computer, electronics and anything about engineering comes to your mind cause it seemed its had never ending list of events being conducted. Suddenly my phone started vibrating it means I have got a call as I always keep my phone on vibration mode , donno why but now am having that sort of habit; so the named poped on my 2.5 inch screen “Aashutosh M” , so now I think its clear to you that I got a call from Aashutosh’s mobile. But before I could pick up vibrations went off , damm it was missed call as Aashu got really bad habit of giving missed calls even if he has got some work of himself.Once again my fate was calling and my instinct went barred at that very moment and so God knows why I called him back.

Redial: and suddenly without saying “hello” voice at other started as “Man just check www.techfest.org. Please, please, please let us make big over here.”I was quite puzzled and so asked “What Big can we make in a website ??”.”Fool…..am telling you about Techfest not its website. Lets take part in it” Ashu replied.”Ah ok !! well would see but can’t guarantee you that I would surely get my ass off for it” was my reply. So Ashu continued ”But man you check the site at least….This time I want to show world who we are !!!” This is what Ashu is, he would always be thinking of proving something to world as if he is being too ridiculed in his past life, whatever their are certain more reasons also for this anxiety of taking on with “world” in him which you would know further. I don’t why I replied so but it went as “ So we are going to shake the world off their butts by making a Robot which could climb, swim or jump in IIT campus !!..Amazing. So how are we making this so big are we going to build next generation “ASIMO” or something which NASA could use to launch their asses to Pluto”….Ashu got bit nervy and said “Bloody damm don’t crap cheap jokes am not in that mood. I want to prove something to world, to my parents and especially to my girlfriend !!”…so this was the reason for Ashu’s anxiety ,he got girlfriend whom he is too insecure of and always trying to woo her with achievements, atleast he does have some reason to go for such things well in my case after some crap experiences in life I completely lost purpose of doing anything,I don’t want to get into it but yes at that point in I really didn’t have any purpose or reason in life which still infact is very true now,I mean I don’t know what am I doing now ,what I am going to do next and where I would be after few years. So finally I replied “OK !!..would make it .”
