Everday Is Special (An Email)

A friend of mine opened his wife’s underwear drawer and picked up a silk paper wrapped package:

“This, – he said – isn’t any ordinary package.”
He unwrapped the box and stared at both the silk paper and the box.
“She got this the first time we went to New York , 8 or 9 years ago. She has never put it on, was saving it for a special occasion. Well, I guess this is it. He got near the bed and placed the gift box next to the other clothings he was taking to the funeral house, his wife had just died.

He turned to me and said: “Never save something for a special occasion. Every day in your life is a special occasion”.
I still think those words changed my life.
Now I read more and clean less.
I sit on the porch without worrying about anything.
I spend more time with my family, and less at work.
I understood that life should be a source of experience to be lived up to, not survived through. I no longer keep anything. I use crystal glasses every day. I’ll wear new clothes to go to the supermarket, if I feel like it.
I don’t save my special perfume for special occasions, I use it whenever I want to. The words “Someday…” and “One Day…” are fading away from my dictionary. If it’s worth seeing, listening or doing, I want to see, listen or do it now. I don’t know what my friend’s wife would have done if she knew she wouldn’t be there the next morning, this nobody can tell. I think she might have called her relatives and closest friends.
She might call old friends to make peace over past quarrels. I’d like to think she would go out for Chinese, her favorite food. It’s these small things that I would regret not doing, if I knew my time had come.
I would regret it, because I would no longer see the friends I would meet, letters… that I wanted to write
“One of these days”.
I would regret and feel sad, because I didn’t say to my brother and sisters, and daughters, not times enough at least, how much
I love them.
Now, I try not to delay, postpone or keep anything that could bring laughter and joy into our lives..
And, on each morning, I say to myself that this could be a special day..
Each day, each hour, each minute, is special.
If you’re too busy to send this out to other people and you say to yourself that you will send it “One of these days” , remember that “One day” is far away… or might never come…

Chapter 1 (Techfest.org)

As am bit internet addict but hardly do anything on internet except orkutting or downloading songs so browsing through techfest site was just an another reason to do a bit more time pass with internet as had nothing to do at that time. And lemme tell you that am too lazy to type even complete website add so I jus googled through my google toolbar for techfest and about 17000+ results poped out in 0.371 secs as google said so in its search results briefing and first one as usual was techfest.org and there was my click on it which was going to change my life at least for coming month. My first impression was to just check outlook of site which seemed pretty tacky and professional not like that of our college’s crappy website whose almost 90% links are dead or lead to just one page i.e. “HOME PAGE” which constantly hammered you same thing of our institute. That first impression itself created a good insight of the events. I browsed through couple of events like robotics, biotechnology, programming and computer, electronics and anything about engineering comes to your mind cause it seemed its had never ending list of events being conducted. Suddenly my phone started vibrating it means I have got a call as I always keep my phone on vibration mode , donno why but now am having that sort of habit; so the named poped on my 2.5 inch screen “Aashutosh M” , so now I think its clear to you that I got a call from Aashutosh’s mobile. But before I could pick up vibrations went off , damm it was missed call as Aashu got really bad habit of giving missed calls even if he has got some work of himself……

IIT Dreams…..

Well to start it of about 70% engineers of India at one point of time in their life wanted to go for IIT…….now about rest 30% out of them 25% never knew what IIT is and 5% are already IITians…..I am one of those 70% who dreamt of being an IITian but never was able to achieve that dream…..not due to some uncertain circumstances but only due to lack of hard work and concentration and am solely responsible….forget it, am not going to tell you my fate story…but about some things which recently happened in my life the IIT calling….well not actually a degree but I do got few certificates from this premier institute to at least achieve 3% of my dreams….so here starts the story of IIT dreams,external exams,flying dutchman,wikipedia,techfest,kshitij,bombay,kharagpur and offcourse two of my best buddies ashutosh and shivram…….

I don’t know the exact dates but somewhere around start of December 07 when we all were in mood of vacations and just to begin preps for new year 08 bonanza of 3rd semester external exams don’t know exactly who he was but some one whom i know went through a website named www.techfest.org and somehow that words felt into my ears and thus started my journey of 3% IIT dreams…….so rest is about to come in future chapters keep reading my blog………

There is column in many social networking site say for e.g. orkut,faceboo,myspace…..bla bla bla…..as v all are trapped into dis Social networking culture so here is an excerpt from About Me column of my profiles on …hope you wud knw me better….

“I say my life cool due to my close friends who are always there for me and never let me down. Also I make friends easily as I always want to learn new things and this gives me power of communication with unknown. Most of the time I try to be as funny as I can but am real serious at heart and very few knows that. Everyday I wake up with attitude that today I am going to achieve something before I go for sleep and it really helps me a lot. I like when people do little things for me like open doors for me or when strangers say “Hi”. I am open and like to learn but my mind seems to be always in the world of Computers and technology. Some people I could talk for days or end and never get tired. My friends call me a team man and I guess team spirit is in my soul. I always try till the end and never give up even after failures as finally I do achieve what I aspire. I look to the future with wide eyes, a little apprehension and a little excitement as wide eyed as I could be with my squinty eyes.”
